As described in my previous post of 4/1/12 on pallet knife painting with my Golden OPEN acrylics, I place a premixed pile of OPEN and regular gel medium on my pallet to dip into and mix with my individual color additions. The mixture of mediums is chosen to give my thick applications a drying time in line with my thinner paint applications. The pile of gel mixtures can be seen as the white pile in the upper right hand corner of the pallet, pictured below.
My pallet knife painting, River's Bend, introduced in my Blog of 4/2/12, has progressed to the next stage, as depicted in the following photograph. This progress is based on several sessions and sitting it aside for observation between modifications. As described in my previous post of 4/1/12 on pallet knife painting with my Golden OPEN acrylics, I place a premixed pile of OPEN and regular gel medium on my pallet to dip into and mix with my individual color additions. At present my plans are to add some modifications to the right hand tree grouping, particularly where the light is streaming through, and to glaze transparent sky color over the water. But we will wait and see what presents itself!
