My last post on my painting, Furrowed Field, was made on 3/30/12. Since then I have significantly modified the geometry of the furrows, and worked to convey to the sky glow to the field, a warm glow emanating from the left and a cooler glow from the right hand side of the sky. I have also worked to achieve a gradual darkening of the field in the foreground. To achieve this has required using many small combinations of the basic colors in the sky and the grass. This has been facilitated by using the same physical color pools on my pallet since several weeks prior to my initial 3/19/12 post. The slow drying time of my Golden OPEN paints has made this all possible!

Field painting is not something that I would love to do. It is okay to hate painting, at least that is what I believe in. I am in another field of art, but my teacher is telling me to at the least, try field painting. It is nice to have a person that believes in you, especially when you do not even want to do it. Today, I will try to do some field painting again, I will give it a nice try.
