I have also added many details to the clouds and to the buildings, extensive work on the shadows to provide depth, and a great deal of work on the various windows to give variety and reflections, with special attention to the Empire State Building. I have one more change to a rf dish near the top of the building that I want to add.
All of these additions and changes were greatly facilitated by my Golden OPEN acrylics staying workable on my pallet for the several months I have been working on this painting. I was able to reuse and modify the same pools of color as I evolved the work.
This will conclude the front plane of the painting. This work is on a panel with a 1.5 inch cradle. I am continuing the details of the painting on the edges of the frame. This will involve more buildings, windows and shadows. More darn fun!
My plan to finish off the painting is, once the edges are painted, to seal and varnish the front and sides so that the painting will look like a block of marble and can be hung without a frame.
